Where to find battery recycling near you

Redwood and our partners offer a nationwide network of collection points and services for consumers to conveniently recycle their batteries.

The three main methods to recycle your old batteries and devices are via 1) direct mail, 2) community events, and 3) collection locations.

Direct mail

Lithium-ion batteries and consumer devices can be shipped following Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines to:

675 Innovation Way

ATTN: Consumer Recycling Program

Sparks, NV 89437

Devices with a battery inside (phone, laptop, or tablet):

  • Ship in standard packing (strong cardboard box works) with inner packing materials to prevent movement within the box. Please make sure your package does not exceed 66 lbs.

Loose lithium-ion batteries:

  • Ship following DOT guidelines. Each battery should be placed in its own clear plastic bag or tape the terminals with packing, electrical or duct tape. Items can be shipped by ground transportation only and package cannot exceed 66 lbs.

  • Items that present a health or safety hazard are not accepted; please refer to our DDR battery guide.

Stop by a community event

We host collection events across the country. Check out our events calendar to see if there is an event near you. Interested in hosting your own? Visit our Rotary ESRAG partner page to learn how you can engage.
